Customer Actions and Workflows


This section covers the key actions you can perform with customer profiles, including taking payments, creating subscriptions, deleting profiles, and common workflow scenarios.

Take a Payment

To process a one-time payment for a customer:

Start the payment

From the customer list or details page, click Take a payment.

A payment form opens with customer information pre-filled.

Enter the amount

Enter the payment amount.

Verify the details

Verify the payment method and shipping address if needed.

Complete the transaction

Complete the transaction.

Result: The system uses the customer's default payment method and shipping address automatically, making checkout faster and reducing errors.

Create a Subscription

To set up recurring billing for a customer:

Start the subscription

From the customer list or details page, click Create subscription.

A subscription form opens with customer information pre-filled.

Configure subscription details

Configure subscription details:

  • Select a billing plan or create a custom schedule.
  • Set billing frequency: monthly, quarterly, or annually.
  • Specify subscription amount.
  • Set start date and end date if applicable.

Review and create

Review and create the subscription.

Common Workflows

These are frequently used workflows for efficient customer management.

Repeat Customer Checkout

To process a payment for a returning customer:

  1. Search for customer in the list.
  2. From the Actions menu, click Take a payment.
  3. Enter amount and process transaction.

Update an Expired Card

To update an expired card on a customer profile:

  1. Open customer details page.
  2. In Payment methods, find the expired card.
  3. Click the three-dot menu and select Edit.
  4. Update card number and expiration date.
  5. Save changes.

Add a New Shipping Location

To add a new shipping address to a customer profile:

  1. Open customer details page.
  2. In Shipping addresses section, click Add shipping address.
  3. Enter complete address.
  4. Save the new address.
  5. Set as default if it is the primary location.
