Reference

This section defines the configurable plan fields, the billing frequency options, billing cycles, and set-up fees, and describes the columns of the Plans list and the Actions menu options.

Plan Fields

These fields are available when creating or editing a plan:

Plan name Required · editable

The name of the plan. For example, Premium Monthly - 50.00 USD.

Plan description Optional · editable

A description of the plan.

Currency Required · not editable

The currency for the plan: USD, CAD, EUR, or GBP.

Amount Required · editable

The recurring amount charged. Changes apply only to subscriptions created after the plan is edited.

Frequency Required · not editable

The billing frequency for the plan.

Billing cycles Required · editable

The number of billing cycles, or indefinite. This value can only be increased.

Set-up fee Optional · editable

An optional one-time set-up fee. Changes apply only to subscriptions created after the plan is edited.

Frequency Options

The billing frequency defines how often a subscription is charged:

Billing Cycles

The billing cycles setting determines how long a subscription continues:

  • Indefinite: the subscription continues until manually cancelled. Used for ongoing services.
  • Set number of billing cycles: the subscription automatically ends after specified payments. Used for fixed-term contracts or installment plans.

Set-Up Fees

Set-up fees are optional one-time charges applied only to the first billing payment. Set-up fees apply to customer boarding, activation, or initial set-up costs.

For example, a 50.00 per month plan with a 25.00 set-up fee charges 75.00 for the first month and 50.00 for all subsequent months.

Plans List Overview

The Plans list displays these columns for each plan:

  • Plan name: descriptive name of the plan
  • Amount: recurring amount charged for and the currency of the plan
  • Billing frequency: billing period or interval (for example, Every month)
  • Billing cycles: either indefinite or number of billing cycles
  • Status: active or inactive
  • Actions: three-dot drop-down menu ( ) for plan actions

Actions Menu

The Actions three-dot drop-down menu ( ) provides quick access to plan operations. A plan's status (active or inactive) determines which actions are available.

These options are available for active plans:

  • View details: displays the plan configuration and associated subscriptions.
  • Create subscription: creates a new subscription for a customer on that plan.
  • Edit plan: modifies the plan's details.
  • Deactivate plan: prevents new subscriptions; current subscriptions are unaffected.
  • Delete plan: removes the plan when there are no active subscriptions associated with the plan.

These options are available for inactive plans:

  • View details: displays the plan configuration and associated subscriptions.
  • Edit plan: modifies the plan's details.
  • Delete plan: removes the plan when there are no active subscriptions associated with the plan.

Inactive plans do not have the Create subscription option because they cannot be used for new subscriptions.
